Trust Digital Delivers First Mobile Security Solution Compliant with DISA Guidelines for Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.0

Apriva Smart Card Reader for Two Factor Authentication and NAC Capabilities also certified to Protect Against Security Threats from Device Loss

McLean, Virginia, – June 26, 2008Trust Digital, the leading enterprise mobility management provider, today announced the company's smartphone security software client is the only mobile product that meets the latest updates to the Defense Information Systems Agency's (DISA) Wireless Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) for Windows Mobile Messaging Wireless Email Systems for the Department of Defense (DoD).

DISA's STIG for Windows Mobile Messaging provides guidelines for the installation, configuration and operation of non-Blackberry Exchange email systems for the DoD and it was recently updated to include device support for Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.0. Using Trust Digital's mobility management software, the Windows Mobile devices were able to meet some of the rigorous standards set forth in the STIG, such as required actions if a wireless email handheld device is lost or stolen, authenticated login procedures to unlock a wireless email device, Bluetooth security and more. Because of the STIG certification, large portions of DoD users are now permitted to securely access email using open market Microsoft Windows Mobile devices.

In addition to the Windows Mobile 6.0 certification, the Apriva smart card reader was also certified for two-factor authentication. The smart card reader, commonly referred to as a CAC card, is used for identification and authentication to DoD systems, and is required for FIPS-201 and HSPD-12 compliance. The addition of the Apriva smart card reader now allows agencies complying with the DISA STIG for Windows Mobile Messaging to have a choice of smart card vendors.

Trust Digital is the only mobility management platform tested and approved to secure Microsoft Windows Mobile and Exchange solutions per the updated DISA STIG, giving government agencies an advanced solution that offers reliability and improved security for email. Because there is no third-party network operations center (NOC) and messages stay within a "native" NOC, classified message incidents are mitigated, giving the DoD and other Federal agencies tighter control of information, as well as enhanced auditing capabilities, features unavailable with existing BlackBerry® solutions.
