Jumpstart Program Delivers Turn-key Solution to Government Agencies Seeking Secure Email Solutions
CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & ENTERTAINMENT®, SAN FRANSCISCO, CA – October 23, 2007 – Trust Digital, the leading provider of enterprise smartphone security management software, announced today that the Trust Digital Smartphone Security CAC Pack, a bundled package including our award-winning smartphone security software and a common access card (CAC) reader, can be used by Federal agencies during the implementation of a Windows Mobile Wireless email solution.
DISA’s (Defense Information Systems Agency) recently published Wireless Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) for Windows Mobile Messaging Wireless Email Systems provides guidelines for the installation, configuration and operation of non-Blackberry Exchange email systems for the Department of Defense (DoD).
Trust Digital secures Microsoft Windows Mobile and Exchange solutions per the newly approved DISA STIG giving government agencies an advanced email security solution that offers reliability, and improved security since there is no third-party network operations center (NOC) thereby mitigating classified message incidents. Because messages stay within a “native” NOC this solution offers the DoD and other Federal agencies tighter control of information as well as enhanced auditing capabilities, features unavailable with existing BlackBerry® solutions.
The Trust Digital Smartphone Security CAC Pack works with a baiMobile™ Bluetooth-enabled Common Access Card (CAC) reader for FIPS-201 and HSPD-12 compliance and meets key government security criteria for Windows Mobile 5 smartphones, including FIPS 140-2 validation. Meeting strict DISA guidelines requires a centrally managed, policy-based security solution that enforces endpoint security and compliance across a range of open-market smartphones and wireless PDAs operating in a multi-domain Active Directory environment. This solution allows authorized personnel to use their existing CAC/Smartcard Logon authentication capabilities on their open market smartphones.
In conjunction with the STIG certification, the company has launched the Trust Digital CAC-enabled Mobile Security Jumpstart Program that packages the DISA compliant solution with professional services delivering a turn-key solution for quick implementation. The Jumpstart Program includes: CAC Reader that is Bluetooth enabled and all the necessary smartphone and server software for a 100-user STIG compliant Windows Mobile Messaging pilot, maintenance and support services provided for 1 year, and implementation and training services for a 100-user pilot. The Jumpstart Program is available on the General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule: GSA Schedule #: GS-35F-0783M.
