Trust Digital Launches PHONE FACTORY Providing Uniform Feature Certification and Quality

PHONE FACTORY Rapidly Delivers Security Support for the Newest Smartphones Using Operating Systems from Palm, Windows Mobile and Symbian

McLean, VA, – June. 27, 2007 – Trust Digital, the leading provider of smartphone security and mobility management software, today announced the formal launch of the company’s Phone Factory delivering uniform smartphone feature certification. This innovative approach to smartphone certification, the first in the industry, rapidly extends security and management support to new devices introduced by handset OEMs and mobile operators.

The Phone Factory tests and certifies a common set of security features, which is essential to IT security administrators who are providing support to a mobile workforce utilizing a variety of smartphones. The smartphones certified through the Phone Factory meet the highest requirements for security with Trust Digital’s easy-to-implement security management facilities utilizing policy based data-at-rest encryption, device resource controls (e.g. Bluetooth, camera, WiFi), SMS blocking, application controls, device IP firewall and IP proxy. All of these features provide a consistent and reliable security policy enforcement platform that is visualized and managed from a centralized console from which smartphones can be monitored, tracked, managed and ultimately remotely wiped if necessary by an organization’s IT staff.

On a monthly basis, the company selects the most popular smartphones for Phone Factory certification. A dedicated team of software developers and test engineers oversees the Phone Factory process which takes approximately one month to certify each phone.

As part of the Phone Factory launch, seven of the hottest-selling smartphones using Palm, Windows Mobile and Symbian operating systems were certified and can now be encrypted to protect data on the devices using the company’s software. In total, Trust Digital offers protection to more than 25 of the most popular smartphones from Motorola, HP, HTC, Nokia, Palm, and Samsung that are serviced and sold by the top wireless carriers in the USA including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon.

Smartphones recently certified by the Phone Factory include:

  • Dash (T-Mobile)
  • HP 6925 (AT&T)
  • HTC 8525 (AT&T)
  • Motorola Q (Sprint)
  • Nokia E62 (AT&T)
  • Symbol MC70 (AT&T)
