Housley has over 20 years of communications and computer security experience inclusive of security protocols, system engineering, system security architectures, and product definition, and is Security Area Director for the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).
Dr. David Goldschlag, CTO of Trusted Edge, has over 20 years of experience in start-up, commercial, government, and academic environments. Goldschlag has held senior management roles at USinternetworking, Inc. and Divx. Additionally, Dr. Goldschlag has held positions within the U.S. Department of Defense and NSA, is a co-inventor on four granted patents, and has published over thirty academic papers, on subject matters such as database technologies, cryptography, conditional access, and computer security.
Marcus Ranum, CSO of Tenable Security, Inc., a world-renowned expert on security system design and implementation, is recognized as the inventor of the proxy firewall and the implementer of the first commercial firewall product. Since the late 1980's, he has designed a number of groundbreaking security products including the DEC SEAL, the TIS firewall toolkit, the Gauntlet firewall, and NFR's Network Flight Recorder intrusion detection system. Ranum has been involved in every level of operations of a security product business, from developer, to founder and CEO of NFR, and has served as a consultant to many FORTUNE 500 firms and national governments.
Ken Silva, CSO of VeriSign, has more than 20 years experience in the telecommunications and security industries. Prior to joining VeriSign, Silva served for 10 years in the NSA, ultimately serving as its Executive Technical Director. Silva sits on various IT leadership boards including the Information Technology, Information Sharing and Analysis Center (IT-ISAC) and the Internet Security Alliance, and advises a number of national and international committees including the National Infrastructure Protection Center (NIPC), the White House ISP Security Panel, the ICANN DNS Security Panel, the Network Reliability and Interoperability Council (NRIC) and the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC).
