Trust Digital Forensic PDA and Smartphone Tool Gaining Channel Demand

Partners ManTech International Corporation and CSCI Leverage Trust Discovery Tool to Determine Historical Mobile Device Activity and Enterprise Mobile Security Risk

McLean, Virginia — November 30, 2004 — Trust Digital, a leading provider of enterprise mobile security software solutions, today announced the creation of the Trust Alliance Program (TAP), a value-added reseller program designed to support market interest in its forensic mobile device tool, Trust Mobile Discovery. With Intelligence/DOD contractors ManTech International Corporation and CSCI using and reselling the patent pending forensic tool, Trust Digital is now seeing growing demand from Government Consulting Groups, Security and Risk Analysis Companies, and Vulnerability Assessment Tool providers.

Trust Mobile Discovery forensically scans the network, creating a historical view of PDA and Smartphone assets. Critical to government agencies and enterprises looking to support compliance requirements, this tool provides organizations with the ability to quickly size mobile device penetration as part of their mobile security policy development. Furthermore, no deployment of software onto PCs or mobile devices is required. The product makes forensic analysis possible through its ability to analyze data for remnants of PDA and Smartphone information that effectively recreates device historical usage patterns from the moment introduced into the system.

Gartner's view concerning the need for enterprises to assess and address their potential risk and liability is clear. "The typical mobile device contains a lot of sensitive corporate information," said John Girard, VP and Research Director, Gartner. "If a laptop, personal digital assistant (PDA) or phone is lost or stolen, or it is accessed improperly from the Internet or a shared visitor network, the company and user must deal with the potential business impact of exposures of stored data and network credentials. Even if the targeted use of the misplaced information is minimal, the company and the user can be held accountable for violating contracts of confidentiality, as well as civil and government regulations for the storage and safe harbor of business information."

"ManTech International Corporation integrated Trust Digital's mobile discovery capability into our BTK compliance tool to help our federal government clients better understand the issues associated with mobile device deployment across their organizations," said Keith Ferguson, an executive director, ManTech Security Technologies Corporation, a subsidiary of ManTech International Corporation. "BTK is an easy-to-use software tool that verifies and validates that information systems are compliant with established security policies, regulations and guidance. Government agencies, as well as enterprises need to first understand the extent of their PDA and Smartphone vulnerability before attempting to deploy mobile security policies."

Trust Digital is the only enterprise mobile security company to offer an infrastructure software solution that easily integrates with existing security infrastructure protocols. Trust Digital's multi-layer approach is designed to address the growing number of threats at the network mobile edge, not simply those threats explicit to any given device. Trust Digital's flagship product, TRUST Enterprise Secure 4.0, is an enterprise application which runs on standard Microsoft Servers and PCs as well as most mobile device platforms including products based on the most recent versions of the Palm and Pocket PC/MS Smartphone platforms.

"Trust Digital's forensic mobile discovery ability is a competitive differentiator for the Company in the mobile security market," said Nick Magliato, CEO, Trust Digital. "We are making this forensic mobile discovery tool widely available through VAR channels in an effort to raise awareness of the compliance, regulatory and security risks associated with unmanaged personal use of PDAs and Mobile Devices."

Trust Digital's products are cross-platform FIPS 140-2 certified.
