Supports Federal Encryption Standards Across Microsoft Windows and PDA Platforms
McLean, Virginia — October 20, 2004 — Trust Digital, a leading provider of enterprise mobile security software solutions, today announced that it has been notified by NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) that the most recent version of its encryption software algorithms have been certified by their authorized testing laboratories and validated according to the FIPS (The Federal Information Processing Standards) 140-2 requirements across Microsoft Windows and PDA platforms.
According to the Federal Information Processing Standards Publications, FIPS 140-2 "…puts forth a standard that will be used by Federal organizations when these organizations specify that cryptographic-based security systems are to be used to provide protection for sensitive or valuable data." FIPS 140-2 is in effect for all US and Canadian government agencies.
This validation is a key part of Trust Digital's marketing push into the Federal Government and Military markets.
