Fairfax, Virginia, September 6, 2000 – Applied Technologies, Inc. (“ATI”) released the first and only software-based security product, GoldSecureä, developed to secure valuable customer data on GoldMine Software’s complete line of eCRM products.

GoldMine Software Corporation’s recently unveiled GoldMineâ Everywhere Server featuring real-time access to GoldMine data with streamlined modules for ease-of-use and rapid navigation via the Internet. It includes Web, Palm VIIä, and GoldMine Thin Client support. Affordable, easy-to-use and rapidly deployable, GoldMine Everywhere provides the ideal eCRM solution to the small to medium-sized business market.

“A high priority for customers today is security.” Said Kevin Shahbazi, head of engineering for ATI. “Web and handheld access is great but valuable customer data can be compromised unless it can be protected.” ATI’s GoldSecureä product, as released today in its full network and Webenabled version, provides security at several levels for contact and customer data in a GoldMine installation. Access rights to individual files or group of files can be controlled and data is encrypted using tested algorithms approved for use by the government.

GoldMine Everywhere Web combines the power and functionality of GoldMine FrontOffice2000 with the simplicity of a Web browser making accessible customer information for anyone, from anywhere as simple as browsing the Web. With the encryption of the data by the GoldSecure software, the data is meaningless to anyone that sees it who is not an authorized user. ATI’s GoldSecure software resides with the GoldMine Everywhere Server and permission levels and other attributes are set up by a systems administrator. GoldSecure also can provide security for HEAT Help Desk software, also available through the publicly traded GoldMine Software Corporation. The encryption process is done “on the fly” in the background so it is transparent to the user.
