Joe Catalfamo
Joe brings over 14 years of venture capital investing and a wealth of experience in the areas of business planning, financings, negotiations, IPOs and acquisitions. His diverse and extensive experience allows him to play an integral role in the structure, strategic direction, and overall growth and business development of emerging companies.
Prior to joining Summerhill Venture Partners in June 2004, Joe served as EVP, CFO and Director of Whitecastle Investments, a leading Canadian private investment company, and Managing Director of its venture practice, Whitecap Venture Partners. As one of the venture practice founders, Joe was instrumental in shaping the vision and investment strategy of Whitecap. He was a core element of the senior team that brought a number of high-grossing investments to fruition.
Joe’s past successes include investments in Broadband Networks Inc. (acquired by Nortel, NYSE: NT), Positron Fiber Systems (NASDAQ IPO and acquired by RELTEC, NYSE: RLT), Loran International Technologies (acquired by Peregrine Systems, NASDAQ: PRGN), Electrophotonics (acquired by ETEC, NASDAQ: ETEC), PC Docs Group International (NASDAQ IPO, and acquired by Hummingbird, TSE: HUM & NASDAQ: HUMC) and ImagicTV (NASDAQ IPO, and acquired by ALCATEL, NYSE: ALA).
Joe began his professional career with KPMG, where he held various senior positions in both Canada and the U.K. Joe is a Gold Medal graduate from the University of Waterloo’s Master of Accounting program, and holds Chartered Accountant and Certified Management Accountant designations in Canada.

Mark Hatfield
Mark Hatfield joined Fairhaven Capital Partners in January 2006, where he focuses on investments in enterprise IT, security and wireless. He has over 10 years of technology integration, business management, and venture capital experience. Prior to joining Fairhaven Capital Partners, Hatfield was a Managing Director for Motorola Ventures, responsible for West Coast Operations. He was an investor and served as a board representative of Amberpoint, A4 Vision, BDNA, Danger Inc., Foundstone (acquired by McAfee), Lumidigm, and Mesh Networks (acquired by Motorola). Prior to joining Motorola Ventures, he headed up Strategy and Business Development for Motorola’s CIO and IT organization. Prior to joining Motorola in 2001, Hatfield also held various Corporate Business Development and IT roles at Bell Canada Enterprises and the Bank of Montreal in Toronto, Canada.
Mr. Hatfield received his MBA from York University and earned a Bachelor’s degree from McMaster University.
Pascal Luck
Pascal Luck brings more than a 15 years of venture and private investment experience and is currently a Managing Director of Core Capital Partners. Core is a Washington DC-based $350 million venture capital fund that provides capital to both early-stage ventures and small to mid-sized growth companies developing or incorporating disruptive, 'core' technologies in high-growth technology sectors. Pascal concentrates primarily on the firm's technology investments. His areas of focus primarily include software driven technologies in the communications and enterprise, networking and information technology sectors.
Prior to joining Core, Pascal was a Director and Founder of CrossHill Financial Group, a DC-based, private investment banking firm. At CrossHill, Pascal was responsible for executing numerous merger and acquisition transactions, private placements, and advisory assignments across a variety of industries. Earlier, Pascal was a Senior Manager in the management consulting division of Deloitte & Touche, where he specialized in finance and strategy for the telecommunications and information technology industries. Pascal began his career as an engineer with ATT IS/Bell Laboratories working on the PBX product line and international telecommunications standards.
Pascal represents Core on the Boards of Directors of Bridgewave Communications, GENBAND, Inlet Technologies, JackBe, Triumfant, Trust Digital, V.i. Labs, and VPI Systems. Previous board affiliations include NextPoint Networks(acquired by GENBAND), Sourcefire (NASDAQ: FIRE) and Covega (acquired by Gemfire).
Pascal is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Institute. He holds an MBA in Finance with Distinction from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a Masters of Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics/Engineering from Loyola College.
Jason Rottenberg
Mr. Rottenberg is the Managing Partner of MVP. Mr. Rottenberg has spent the last seventeen years, founding, building and funding early-stage technology companies, and is a frequent speaker on the topic of technology commercialization. Mr. Rottenberg was previously a manager in Arthur Andersen’s Silicon Valley office. Mr. Rottenberg graduated from Georgetown University with a B.S. degree and earned an MBA with highest distinction from Harvard University, where he was named a Baker Scholar.
